Rampage Announce Opening Playoff Round Schedule; Gurson Named to MASL Team of the Week

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA - The Cedar Rapids Rampage today announced the schedule for their opening round Ron Newman Cup playoff series against the Milwaukee Wave.
The Rampage will open the Central Division Finals on Saturday March 10 at the Odeum Expo Center in Chicago at 12:05pm CST. Game 2, and the potential series-deciding mini-game, will take place March 11 at Milwaukee's UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena at 1:05pm CDT.
Milwaukee won the Central Division title, and earned the option to play Game 1 at home or to open on the road and host Game 2 and the possible mini-game at home. The Wave locked in their March 11 home date early, foreclosing on the possibility of the Rampage hosting any playoff game at home due to scheduling conflicts with the arena. Due to those scheduling conflicts, the Rampage secured an alternate venue to host its playoff game.
Playoff tickets are now on sale. Tickets are $15 in advance at cedarrapidsrampage.com or $20 at the door. $25 Balcony VIP tickets, which includes private bar access, are also available.
"We are disappointed not to have a game at our home arena, where we have enjoyed much success," said Rampage General Manager Chris Kokalis, "but when there was no date availability at the US Cellular Center, the Odeum Expo Center became a viable alternative, given the number of players we have on our roster from the Chicago area. If our fans are up for a road trip it should be a great soccer weekend with two games in two days close together."
The Rampage, hot off a two-win weekend, also got good news from the MASL today when Gordy Gurson was named to the league's Team of the Week. Gurson had eight goals and five assists in three games this week and set Rampage season records for goals (28) and points (47). He now sits in a 4th place tie in the MASL for both points and goals, and is tied for 7th with a career high 19 assists.
The Rampage close out their regular season home schedule on Friday, February 23 at 7:35pm against the Monterrey Flash at the US Cellular Center. Tickets are now on sale online at Ticketmaster.com and at the U.S. Cellular Center box office.
