
Rampage Acquires Chicago Magic

ROCKFORD, ILLINOIS, June 18, 2009 ... Rampage Futbol LLC, owner of the Rockford Rampage professional indoor soccer team, today announced its acquisition of the Chicago Magic Youth Soccer Club. The acquisition, for an undisclosed sum, allows for a partnership between the professional team and youth club which will allow for greater input, as well as the sharing and coordination of resources including personnel, facilities, sponsorships and strategic partnerships throughout the greater northern Illinois area spanning from Frankfort to Rockford with additional facilities in the northern suburbs.
Moving forward, the Chicago Magic youth soccer club and its nationally recognized Development Academy, will be structured as a not-for-profit entity. Revenues and sponsorships will be directed back into the club for the benefit of its players to continue to build on the heritage of player development and success that Chicago Magic teams have enjoyed over their history. The goal of the Chicago Magic youth soccer program will be to assess each player fairly and teach the skills to help each player enhance and improve their individual talents while building cohesive team units.
Rampage team officials are pleased with the acquisition and look forward to building upon the excellence and success that Chicago Magic teams have been known for nationally.

Hallmark Properties was the parent company of the Chicago Magic prior to the acquisition. Hallmark Properties still maintains rights to the facilities in Frankfort and Merrillville, the outdoor complex/fields in Lowell, Indiana, the Indiana Magic Soccer Club and will still host the Best of the Midwest Tournaments annually. The Rockford Rampage completed its inaugural season in the National Indoor Soccer League (NISL ) forcing league opponents the Philadelphia KiXX and Monterrey La RaZa out of the playoffs to take on the 2008-'09 regular season first place, Baltimore Blast. The Rampage took the lead early in the game and fought the Blast goal for goal eventually losing the Championship match 13-10 in Baltimore. The Rampage will begin their second season in the NISL this November with all home games being played at the MetroCentre in Rockford.
