Raleigh Rebels drop Thunder

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Lavel Bailey caught three of David Malino's four touchdowns passes and the Raleigh Rebels capitalized on six turnovers to spoil the Daytona Beach Thunder's home opener with a 65-32 American Indoor Football League victory before 2,561 at the Ocean Center Thursday night.

Bailey finished with five catches for 139 yards while Corey Peterson had five catches for 91 yards and a score.

The Rebels (2-0) turned two Thunder (0-2) interceptions into Montrail Pittman and Eddoe Ravenell touchdowns while Daytona Beach also fumbled twice inside the Rebel five-yard line.

Pittman finished with three interceptions.

Travis Wilson threw three touchdowns to Lucas Greene for Daytona Beach, which suffered the loss of wide receiver Robert Bailey early in the second quarter. Bailey had a 50-yard kickoff return in the period when the teams were trading scores.

Daytona Beach travels to Richmond next Sunday.
