
Rainmen Win Big over Island Storm in Home Opener

The Halifax Rainmen put together a big win in their home opener Saturday against the Island Storm, 101-83, picking up their first win of the season in the process.
The Rainmen started out strong, amassing a 12-0 run in the first quarter, and finishing the half with a commanding 52-33 lead. In the third quarter the Island Storm picked away at the lead, however the offensive production of Michael Martin and Seiya Ando secured a comfortable lead for the Rainmen throughout the fourth quarter.
Michael Martin led all Rainmen with 19 points, Seiya Ando had 17 points on the night and Emmanuel Jones finished with an impressive 15 points and 8 rebounds. The Island Storm were led by Brandon Robinson who put up 17 points and 8 rebounds, Johnny Mayhane finished with 14 points on the night and Renardo Sidney had 7 rebounds.
Halifax is back in action this coming Thursday, November 13th, against the Moncton Miracles at the Scotiabank Centre. Tip-Off time is 7pm and tickets are still available for purchase through www.rainmenbasketball.ca.
