
Rainmen Hand Storm First Loss of Season

(Charlottetown, PE) The Island STORM erased a 19 point halftime lead by the Halifax Rainmen in the 3rd quarter but could not sustain the momentum as the Rainmen win their first of the NBL Canada season with a 101-83 victory at Scotiabank Centre in Halifax on Saturday night.
The STORM had a tough 2nd quarter which saw the Rainmen take a 19 point lead into the dressing room at halftime. The STORM regrouped in the 3rd and briefly took a 1 point lead but it was the last lead they were to have as the Rainmen regained their composure for the 18 point win.
It was the first loss of the young season for the STORM as they beat both Saint John and Halifax in the pre-season, then beat Saint John in their home opener this past Thursday at Eastlink Centre.
The STORM now head to Saint John for a game against the Mill Rats Sunday afternoon at Harbor Station at 2 o'clock.
Following Sundays game in Saint John the STORM head home for a day rest before heading out for the long trip to southern Ontario for games against teams in the NBL Central Division. The STORM play at home next on Sunday afternoon, November 30th, at Eastlink Centre.
