Rainmen Add Experienced Shooter

December 29, 2014 - National Basketball League of Canada (NBL Canada) - Halifax Rainmen News Release

(Halifax, NS): The Halifax Rainmen are pleased to announce they have come to terms with an experienced shooting specialist, 6'5 guard Forrest Fisher from Texas.

Fisher has played in some of the top divisions around the world, and most recently won a championship in Argentina where he shot a staggering 54% from behind the arc.

In 2013-14, he played in Mexico averaging better than 15 points per game on 40% accuracy from downtown.

In 2013, Fisher led the league in scoring in Ecuador averaging 28ppg and 53% from long distance.

He is no stranger to hard work, in fact in 2012 he joined Rainmen Coach Pep Claros in helping the Mexican National Team win the Ligas Del Las America Championship.

Fisher says " Coach Pep is the best coach I've ever played for, but it's not without sacrifice. He demands perfection, his practices are nowhere close to easy. He is the reason I've agreed to come to Halifax, and to help win championship. Anything less would be a failure."

Fisher will be in practice Monday and will be ready to play pending FIBA clearance.

Halifax will be back on the court January 2nd at the Scotiabank Centre when they face division rivals Saint John Mill Rats at 7PM.

Rainmen half season tickets and flex tickets are on sale at Rainmen Office. For more information, please call 444.RAIN(7246) or e-mail [email protected]
