Houma Bayou Bucks News Release
HOUMA, LA---Over the weekend the Bayou Bucks attempted to hold their second annual open tryout camp at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. Due to excessive rain fall and threatening lighting the team was forced to postpone the event.
All the players who signed up for the camp will get another chance to make the team this weekend as the Bucks hold a make-up tryout in Houma. The camp will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday January 24 at the Bayou Bucks practice field on Boundary Road in East Houma. The Bayou Bucks are also allowing anyone who has not been able to attend the previous tryouts a chance to make the squad. As usual there will be a $50.00 registration fee for those who did not register in New Orleans.
Coach Jack Phillips added, "I really feel disappointed for the players that traveled long distances to have a chance to become a Bayou Buck, but one thing we can't control is the weather. In fairness to these young men we will give them another shot this weekend." Phillips went on to say, "I would like to thank all of the staff in the Tulane Athletic department for all their hospitality on Saturday given the inclement conditions."
