LAST TIME OUT: The Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs scored four unanswered goals in the second period and rode the wave to a 7-3 win over the Fayetteville Marksmen, Friday night at the Crown Coliseum. Riley Spraggs had two goals and an assist and Steve Mele scored twice for the Dawgs in the win.

AB FEEL LIKE BUSTIN' LOOSE AB : The Rail Yard Dawgs set multiple season highs in Friday night's 7-3 win over Fayetteville. Seven goals were the most in a single game for the Dawgs this season and matched the Roanoke franchise record. The Rail Yard Dawgs also set a season high for goals in a single period with four in the second. Roanoke had been in a goal-scoring drought prior to Friday's game- it had only netted eight in its previous four games.

HOME ICE DISADVANTAGE: Roanoke and Fayetteville have played six games against one another in the 2017-18 season, three at the Berglund Center and three at Fayetteville's Crown Coliseum. The road team has won every game to date. Roanoke is 3-0-0 in Fayetteville and 0-3-0 against the Marksmen at home.

SWISS CHEESE DEFENSE: Fayetteville has struggled defensively all season- it averages a league worst 4.8 goals against per game. After the Rail Yard Dawgs hung seven goals on the Marksmen on Friday, the Marksmen have been outscored a combined 34-12 in their last six games. Fayetteville is 1-5-0 in that stretch.

POINTS IN BUNCHES: The Rail Yard Dawgs had a season-high four players register multi-point performances during Friday's 7-3 win over Fayetteville. Riley Spraggs had two goals and an assist, Steve Mele scored twice and both Joe Sova and Daniel Vernace recorded a pair of assists.

ON THE LEADERBOARD: Steve Mele scored twice on Friday, pushing his team-leading point total to 26. Mele is now fifth in the SPHL in scoring and second with 18 assists. He is nipping at the heels of Fayetteville's Jake Hauswirth who leads the league with 31 points and 20 assists.
