
SPHL Announces Suspensions

HUNTERSVILLE, NC (December 30, 2017) - The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) on Sat- urday announced the following suspensions: Knoxville's Marcus Ortiz Knoxville's Marcus Ortiz has been suspended one game for his actions in Game 104, Huntsville at Knoxville, played on Friday, December 29.
At the 11:12 mark of the second period, Ortiz was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for cross-checking.
Ortiz will miss Knoxville's game against Evansville tonight (December 30).
Mississippi's Brantley Sherwood Mississippi's Brantley Sherwood has been suspended one game for a violation of the league's fighting takedown rule in Game 105, Pensacola at Mississippi, played on Friday, December 29.
Sherwood will miss Mississippi's game against Birmingham tonight (December 30).
Fayetteville's Brad Drobot Fayetteville's Brad Drobot has been suspended two games for his actions in Game 103, Roanoke at Fayetteville, played on Friday, December 29.
At the 16:43 mark of the third period, Drobot was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for slashing and a major penalty for fighting.
Drobot will miss Fayetteville's games against Roanoke (December 30) and Birmingham (January 5).
