Rochester Raiders News Release

ROCHESTER, N.Y.- At 1:00pm this afternoon at Blue Cross Arena the Rochester Raiders ownership team of Bob Bartosiewicz and David McCarthy in partnership with Blue Cross Arena Manager Jeff Calkins as well as Mayor Robert Duffy and the City of Rochester announced that the Rochester Raiders will be playing their 2008 home games at the Blue Cross Arena downtown.

This partnership between the Raiders and Blue Cross Arena began last season before the 2007 Continental Indoor Football League Championship Game in which an agreement was made with Raiders management and Blue Cross Arena to hold the historic game in the city's biggest venue. This partnership blossomed in the weeks following the 2007 season and an agreement was reached to play all of the Raiders 2008 home games at Blue Cross Arena. The full Raiders schedule will be released once it is finalized by the Continental Indoor Football League Officials.

The Raiders will open the season Saturday, March 29th and there will be a total of six home regular season games played at the Arena. The Raiders played their home games at the Main Street Armory last season and are extremely excited about this jump into Blue Cross Arena. The Raiders are the defending 2007 CIFL Champions in which they defeated the Port Huron Pirates 37-27 in a game played at Blue Cross Arena. Season tickets for the Raiders can be purchased through the Blue Cross Arena Box Office.
