Raiders' Marshall Named Player of the Week
April 30, 2013 - Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL)
Richmond Raiders News Release
Raiders defensive back RoShawn Marshall was named the PIFL's Defensive Player of the Week for his efforts in the Raiders' 66-64 win over the Lehigh Valley SteelHawks. Marshall had two interceptions in the fourth quarter, including one on the SteelHawks' final drive in the last minute as they were threatening to take the lead. He also broke up two passes and had five tackles.
Marshall is second in the league with three interceptions this season. He leads the league in passes broken up with 10, and his total of 13 passes defended also is tops in the PIFL. His average of 4.7 tackles per game is good for seventh place. He becomes the first repeat winner of the Defensive Player of the Week award, having previously won the honor following the Raiders' 51-36 won over the Knoxville Nighthawks on March 30.
Marshall and the Raiders return to action Saturday night at the Richmond Coliseum when they take on the Albany Panthers in a rematch of last year's PIFL Championship Game. Kickoff is at 7:00, and tickets start at just $7. Tickets are available via the secure online store on the Raiders' website (www.richmondraidersprofootball.com), by calling the Raiders' office at 804- 780-0430, or via Ticketmaster or the Richmond Coliseum box office.
