Rochester Raiders News Release
The GLIFL is pleased to announce the Rochester Raiders as the league's fifth team. The Raiders are owned by David McCarthy and will play their home games at the ESL Sports Centre in Rochester, NY.
The Rochester Raiders and owner David McCarthy were introduced at a press conference on Friday, September 30th at ESL Sports Centre. Rochester has been named as the #1 Minor League Market by the Sports Business Journal.
Co-founder Jeff Spitaleri says, "Dave has a passion for football and the strong desire to ensure that the city of Rochester is represented by the best possible product. We are excited to be involved in a market that has been rated the best in minor league sports and we expect this franchise to be a success both on the field and in the Rochester community."
"This is going to work," said McCarthy, "we are going to make it Rochester's team with Rochester people doing it. That will be the best part of it all."
