Calgary, Alta. - The Western Hockey League announced today that San Jose Sharks prospect Noah Gregor of the Prince Albert Raiders has been named the WHL On the Run Player of the Week for the week ending December 30, 2018.
Gregor recorded seven points (5G-2A) and a plus-seven rating in three games this week as the Raiders swept a home-and-home series against the Saskatoon Blades by 4-3 and 4-2 scores before dropping a 2-1 game to the Regina Pats Sunday. Gregor was selected by the Sharks in the fourth round, 111thoverall, of the 2016 NHL Draft and signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the club in April 2018.
Thursday against the Blades, Gregor recorded a pair of goals and an assist in a 4-3 overtime victory on the road against the Blades. In Friday's rematch at the Art Hauser Centre, Gregor potted another pair of goals and an assist in the 4-2 victory. Gregor once again scored the first two goals of the game for the Raiders, scoring to tie up the game late in the second period before the Raiders won it in the third. Gregor had an assist on the Raiders' fourth goal of the contest. The Beaumont, Alta. product was named the second star of the game in the win.
Sunday, Gregor scored the lone goal of the game for the Raiders in their 2-1 defeat at the hands of the Pats. Gregor once again factored into the three stars of the game, earning second star honours.
Overall, Gregor recorded six points (4G-2A) at even strength with one of his goals coming on the power play. With goals in all three games, Gregor extended his goal-scoring streak to a career-high six games, topping two previous four-game goal streaks. Gregor also has points in six-straight games and eight of his last nine contests.
The 6-foot-0, 180-pound 20-year-old used his big week to reach a career milestone as well, reaching 50 points for the fourth-straight season and surpassing the 250-point plateau for his WHL career. Gregor has 50 points (24G-26A) in 32 games this season, including seven power-play goals, three short-handed goals, and two game-winning goals.
