Prince Albert Raiders News Release
Prince Albert, SK - The Prince Albert Raiders have acquired 2001-born forward Daniil Stepanov from the Moose Jaw Warriors in exchange for a ninth-round pick in the 2023 WHL Bantam Draft.
Stepanov, listed at 6'0 and 176 lbs, had eight goals and 11 assists while playing in all 68 games in his rookie season with the Warriors last year. In four games with the Warriors this year, he has two assists.
Hailing from Minsk, Belarus, the import centreman spent time on the same Under-17 team in his home country as Aliaksei Protas. He, Protas, and Ilya Usau also suited up together on Belarus' team at the 2018 World Under-18 Hockey Championship.
In a corresponding move, the Raiders have placed 2002-born forward Ivan Kechkin on import waivers.
The Raiders are back in action on Tuesday night as the Vancouver Giants make their only trip of the season to the Art Hauser Centre. Puck drop is 7 p.m. Tickets are available at raiderhockey.com.
It's the first of three home games for the Raiders this week. They take on the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Friday and the Warriors on Saturday before heading out on their biennial U.S. Division road trip.
