OLD ORCHARD BEACH, ME- The Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide (14-16) bats came alive as they defeated the Brockton Rox (15-15), 8-2 on Monday night at The Ballpark. Joey Royer (Westbrook, ME/New Haven) got his first victory of the season, tossing six innings with three strikeouts.

Brockton was able to get to Royer early, striking for one run, three hits, while stranding three on base in the first inning. After a 1-2-3 top of the second, the Raging Tide erupted for three runs, taking the lead for good. Aaron Wilson (Windsor, CT/Hartford) drove in two runs on a single in the inning.

OOB added two runs in the third, and another three in the fourth to pull this game out of reach with a 8-1 cushion.

The Rox would trim the lead by one with a run in the top of the sixth on a Jordan Berry (Scituate, MA/Indian Hills CC) single that drove home Mitch Elliott (Wexford, PA/Xavier).

Brian Doran (Ayr. ONT/Maine) went 3-4 in the winning effort for the Tide.

The Raging Tide will be on the road the next three days, travelling to Pittsfield, Torrington, and Nashua. Tomorrow's contest against the Suns will be at 7pm.
