Raging Tide Bats Come Alive in Win over Seacoast, 10-6

OLD ORCHARD BEACH, ME - The Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide beat the Seacoast Mavericks 10-6 at The Ballpark Friday night. The Tide are now even at 1-1 this season against the Mavericks. Sam Balzano (Portland, ME/ University of Maine) continues his hot start hitting successfully in all seven games so far.

Old Orchard Beach's offense came alive for throughout the game, and capped it off with a three run 8th inning to secure the victory. Tucker White (Deerfield, NH/ University of Southern Maine) has continued to hit the ball strong here of late with a three game hitting streak, going 3-5 tonight with a triple and an RBI.

Starting pitcher Joey Royer (Windham, ME/ University of New Haven) got a no decision for the Tide, giving up four earned runs, with four strikeouts in five innings pitched. Picking up the win and his first of the season was Rob Rozzi (Pembroke, MA/ Massasoit CC) going 1.2 innings with two strikeouts.

Tomas Mark (Jamiaca, NY/ Northern Oklahoma) went 3-3 for the Mavericks in the loss with a double, four RBI, and a base on balls.

Picking up the loss for Seacoast was Doug Willey (Shelburne, NH/ Franklin Pierce University) giving up two earned runs in two innings pitched with two strikeouts.

The Raging Tide will be on the road tomorrow as they take on the Seacoast Mavericks for the second consecutive night. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 pm in Rochester, NH. The Tide will return home Sunday against the North Shore Navigators for Father's Day. All Dads will have the opportunity to play catch with their child on the field immediately concluding the game. First pitch is at 1 pm.
