
Rage moves to Savvis

ST. LOUIS, MO, January 26, 2006- Mayor Francis Slay will formally welcome The RiverCity Rage, 2005 NIFL (National Indoor Football League) Atlantic East Division Champions, at a press conference 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31 at Savvis Center, the team's new home. Mayor Slay will be joined by National Indoor Football League President Carolyn Shiver who will also be on hand to highlight the Rage's move to Savvis.
"The city of St. Louis is a great sports town," said Mayor Slay. "The Rage organization is working hard to ensure that fans in the Gateway City will enjoy exciting indoor football at Savvis Center starting in March."
"We are looking forward to bringing a championship caliber organization to the city of St. Louis," said RiverCity Rage President Tye Elliot. "The Rage already has the football infrastructure in place. With the tremendous support and winning attitude that Savvis has put forth in working with us and the fans of the best sports city in America, 2006 will be a winning endeavor for the Rage, the NIFL, Savvis Center and the greater St. Louis area."
"St. Louis has a great family fun event coming to downtown," RiverCity Rage Vice President Scott Wilson said. "One of the greatest rewards of owning the RiverCity Rage is seeing the faces of the children after the game when they are obtaining autographs from our players and cheerleaders. We are proud that we are able to see families enjoy our games for less than $40 for great seats."
Rage players, cheerleaders and the Rage mascot will be available for photos following the press conference.
Opening Day is set for 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 26 at Savvis Center. The RiverCity Rage are members of the National Indoor Football League, a 24-team professional indoor football league that will play its 6th season in 2006.
