RiverCity Rage News Release

St. Charles, MO - The RiverCity Rage Professional Indoor Football Team fell at home to the Wichita Wild Saturday night, 22-15, in front of 4,364 fans at the Family Arena. In the process the Rage lost their three-year starting quarterback, Anthony Fisher. The loss is the third straight for the Rage after beginning the season 3-0.

"The preliminary report is that he broke his foot," said Rage head coach Ken Stills. "We lost him before halftime and we couldn't move the ball from there. Our backup (Darrell Jackson) already has a broken hand. We didn't have anyone else who had any game action."

Fisher was 6-11 for 26 yards and one touchdown before the injury and had his team leading 15-13 at the half. Rage newcomer, Mike McMullen, started the second half and completed two of seven passes for nine yards with one interception.

Neither team was able to score in the third quarter as the Rage defense kept their team in the game. Linebacker Joe Bevis, who entered the game as the league's leading tackler, had another standout performance as he totaled 11.5 tackles and added a blocked field goal. Another league leader for the Rage, safety Milton Proctor, added to his interception total with his seventh of the season.

The Wild scored the game's last nine points, all in the fourth quarter. Following an intentional grounding safety by McMullen, Wild Quarterback Efi Eyo hooked up with Carlos Cavanaugh with just 2:29 left in the game to break the 15-15 tie to take the lead to stay.

"They (Wild) played a solid game," added Stills. "They only turned the ball over once, to our three. They've played everyone tough this year. We seem to get everyone's 'A' game this year. We have the target on our backs. We just have to step up to the challenge."

The Rage end their three-game homestand next Saturday as they welcome the Sioux Falls Storm to the Family Arena. This will be the first meeting between these two teams in the United Indoor Football League. The Storm has won all three league titles since the inception of the UIF. The first 1,000 fans through the gates will receive a free Rage checkbook cover courtesy of Reliance Bank. Great tickets remain for the game with prices starting at just $5.
