RiverCity Rage News Release

St. Charles, MO - Following their 86-6 victory in their exhibition game on Sunday, the RiverCity Rage Professional Indoor Football Team has released their 30-man roster for the 2008 season. The roster includes 15 returning players from last season's playoff team. Of the 30 players, 20 call the St. Louis area home. The decisions on who stays and who did not were difficult ones to make for new Rage Head Coach, Ken Stills.

"These were tough choices to make," said Stills. "Obviously everyone played very well on Sunday. We feel that we have made the right decisions and now it's up to the coaches to bring these 30 guys together as one unit striving for the same goal."

On offense, the Rage return six of their eight starters from last season. Leading the way is quarterback, Anthony Fisher who finished sixth in the UIF in both passing yards per game (116.5) and touchdown passes (33). He will be joined by all three of his starting receivers - Hurtis Chinn, Moses Regular, and Travis Williams. Chinn, a UIF All-Star last season, finished second in the league in both all purpose yards (126.8 per game) and kick return yards (1,121) while ranking third in receptions (84).

"Our returning players on offense made the decisions a little easier on that side of the ball," added Stills. "We had a great returning group of guys from last season. Defensively, we were stacked also. Those decisions were a lot tougher. We had some great players like Steve Freeman and Calvin Jones who could really play. Unfortunately, we just didn't have enough room on the roster for them. We as a coaching staff want to pass along our best to those players that didn't make the roster. We know they will all land somewhere. They were too good to not be playing football professionally."

The Rage will return seven of their eight starters form last season's defensive squad. The defense will, once again, be led by UIF All-Star, Terrell Washington. The defensive end finished last season ranked fourth in sacks (10.5) and second in tackles for loss (21.5). Also back are linebacker Joe Bevis, who ranked seventh in the league in tackles (82.5) and cornerback Brandon Gregory, who led the UIF in missed field goal return yardage (224) in 2007.

The RiverCity Rage Professional Indoor Football Team is a member of the United Indoor Football League. All Rage home games are played at The Family Arena in St. Charles, MO. Rage season tickets are on sale as well for the 2008 season and a limited amount are still available for as low as $10. For ticketing information contact the Rage ticket office at (636) 896-4285.
