Kalamazoo Jr. K-Wings News Release
Kalamazoo, MI- The Kalamazoo Jr. K-Wings, proud members of the North American Hockey League, announce the addition of Brock Raffaele from the Soo Eagles of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL).
Raffaele, a Cadillac, Michigan native and a draft pick of Kalamazoo in last Summers NAHL Draft, was the leading scorer on the Soo Eagles, and eighth in the entire NOJHL. In 31 games, Raffaele registered 61 points (30 goals, 31 assists). On the season, he has scored four or more points in four games this season, while leading the Eagles to a 23-5-3 record.
Raffaele is not completely unfamiliar with the Jr. K-Wings organization, as he is not only a draft pick of Kalamazoo, but also a former linemate of forward, Robbie Payne. They look to re-kindle their success they shared while playing for the Soo Eagles.
Head Coach Marc Fakler is looking forward to Raffaele making his debut this weekend, thinking his addition will help the team immediately. "He's a skilled center with good playmaking abilities" Fakler said. "He's got a great hockey sense."
The Jr. K-Wings will return to the Borgess Health Rink at Wings West again on Saturday, January 14th against the Michigan Warriors.
