AKRON, OH - Akron Racers draftees, Sami Fagan and Alex Hugo were among 28 SEC athletes receiving All-SEC honors as announced Tuesday by the league office. First round (#4 overall) draft choice, Sami Fagan, the Missouri Tiger shortstop and second round (#10 overall) selection Alex Hugo, the Georgia second baseman, were named to the second team as infielders.

Fagan, Akron's second and the fourth overall choice in the 2016 NPF Draft, concluded her final regular season ranked second all-time with 264 hits, 186 RBI and 199 runs scored in just three seasons with the Tigers. Fagan is a three-time All-SEC selection earning a spot in each of her three seasons at Missouri. Fagan ended the 2016 regular season with a .424 batting average, 11 home runs, 49 RBI and 25 stolen bases. Fagan was one of four Tigers named to the All-SEC team.

Behind Fagan's leadership, the Tigers claimed the sixth seed in what just may be the most competitive conference tournament in the country this spring. Missouri begins play today at noon against #11 South Carolina. Missouri edged the Gamecocks in regular season play, winning two out of three games.

Fagan's complete collegiate career stats include a .376 batting average, 264 hits, 199 runs scored, 186 RBI, 37 doubles, 8 triples, 27 homeruns, 111 walks, and 73 stolen bases. The multi-talent and versatile Tiger can play anywhere on the diamond and has in her solid collegiate career.

Hugo, the Racers 10th overall pick, started 55 of 56 games for the Bulldogs compiling a .326 batting average in 2016. Hugo led Georgia with 55 runs scored, 19 doubles, and 45 walks in in her senior season. The Bulldogs second baseman collected 47 hits, 45 RBI and nine home runs in 2016. In three seasons with the Bulldogs, Hugo was named All-SEC all three years. Hugo was one of seven Georgia players to snag an SEC award.

Hugo's three-year career at Georgia is nothing short of amazing including a .365 batting average, 169 hits, 175 runs scored 182 RBI, 39 doubles, 5 triples, 56 homeruns, 131 walks and 17 stolen bases.

Hugo and Georgia enter the SEC Tournament as the fifth seed and takes on ninth-seeded Ole Miss this evening.

The Racers will begin their 15th Season of Play in 2016 on May 31 in York, Pennsylvania against the Pennsylvania Rebellion.
