Grand Prairie AirHogs News Release
GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas - The Grand Prairie AirHogs announced today that QuikTrip Park at Grand Prairie will host the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Baseball Tournament May 22-26. This marks the first time the WAC Baseball Tournament has been played at QuikTrip Park.
"We are very excited about hosting the WAC Baseball Tournament at QuikTrip Park," said AirHogs GM John Bilbow. "This area is a hotbed for college baseball. The fact that Dallas Baptist and UT Arlington are in the conference makes it even more special. A number of schools in the WAC have made it to the NCAA Tournament over the last few years as well as the College World Series. We think this has a chance to be a very special event in the Metroplex in May."
In baseball, the 10 WAC schools include Cal State University (CSU) Bakersfield, Dallas Baptist, Louisiana Tech, New Mexico State, Sacramento State, San Jose State, Seattle University, Texas State, UT Arlington and the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). The top eight schools from the regular season will qualify for the WAC Baseball Tournament.
Tickets are $10 for a day pass or $35 for a tournament pass. Games will be played at 11 a.m., 3 p.m., and 7 p.m. May 22-25 with the championship game slated for 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 26. Tickets can be purchased by calling 972-504-9383.
