Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release
Rancho Cucamonga, CA - The Los Angeles Angels have announced their minor league coaching staffs for the upcoming 2010 season.
The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes will welcome back Manager Keith Johnson, as he'll enter his seventh season within the Angels' family and his second consecutive season as the "skipper" for the Quakes.
Originally drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1992 out of the University of Pacific, Johnson played professionally for the Dodgers, the Arizona Diamondbacks, as well as the Angels.
"We're excited to have Keith back for another exciting year at the Epicenter," said Vice President - General Manager Grant Riddle. "Keith and his staff have done a great job of getting the guys on the field ready for the next level, so that they can one day contribute to the big-league club in Anaheim."
Johnson will be joined by a pair of familiar faces, as both Hitting Coach Damon Mashore and Pitching Coach Dan Ricabal will return to the Quakes in 2010.
Mashore, who played three seasons in the big leagues with the A's and Angels, begins his second year with the Quakes and his third in the Angels' system.
A stand-out at Cal State Fullerton, Ricabal enters his third year with the Quakes and his fifth as a coach for the Angels.
No Athletic Trainer has been named for the upcoming season.
Don't forget that the Quakes open the 2010 California League season on Thursday, April 8th, as they take on the Inland Empire 66ers, right here at the Epicenter. Season Tickets are now on sale by calling (909) 481-5000. We hope to see you at the Epicenter very soon. Go Quakes!
