Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release
Bakersfield, CA - Blaze starter Tim Crabbe limited the Quakes to just one run on three hits over eight innings, as Bakersfield took two of three from Rancho with an 8-1 win on Monday night at Sam Lynn Ballpark in Bakersfield.
A Leon Landry two-out RBI double in the third was the only blemish against Crabbe (1-0), who was making his first start for the Blaze since coming down Double-A Pensacola of the Southern League.
Landry's RBI double plated Jan Vazquez and tied the game at 1-1 in the third, but it was all Blaze from thereon.
Niko Vasquez ripped a tie-breaking triple off of Quakes' starter Angel Sanchez in the fifth, as the Blaze took a 2-1 lead. Bakersfield added another in the fifth, then three in the sixth and another in the seventh, taking a commanding 8-1 advantage.
Sanchez (6-7) suffered his fourth straight loss, allowing five runs on five hits over five-plus innings.
The Quakes finished the game with just four hits and had more errors (2) than runs (1) for the second time in the three-game series.
The Quakes (10-15, 47-48) will send JonMichael Redding (6-2) to the mound on Tuesday night, as they return to The Epicenter to face the Lake Elsinore Storm as part of a six-game home stand. Lake Elsinore will go with Matt Branham (2-1) in the series-opener, with game time slated for 7:05pm.
Tuesday is a Healthy RC Recycle Tuesday, as 10 CRV-eligible bottles and cans will get fans a free Club Seat Ticket to the game. Tickets are available by calling (909) 481-5000 or online at rcquakes.com. Go Quakes!
