Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release

Rancho Cucamonga, CA - Tony Delmonico's two-run triple snapped a 3-3 tie and capped a four-run sixth, as the Quakes rallied to beat Inland Empire on Saturday night, holding on for a 5-4 win at The Epicenter, their first victory of the season.

Delmonico, hitless in his first eight at-bats of 2012, lifted a Johnny Holtman (0-1) pitch off the very top of the wall in left-center field, bringing home both Jonathan Garcia and Chris O'Brien to give the Quakes the lead for good.

Quake's reliever Scott McGough (1-0), who worked a scoreless sixth, committed a balk in the top of the seventh, which brought home a run to pull Inland Empire to within one at 5-4. But with the tying run at second base, McGough got Taylor Lindsey to ground out, keeping the Quakes in front.

Logan Bawcom, making his first appearance of the year, retired all six men he faced to earn his first save of the year, locking up Rancho's first win of the series.

Quakes' starter Garrett Gould grinded his way through five innings, taking a no-decision on the night. Gould allowed a three-run homer to Jett Bandy in the second, but settled down and battled to get through the fifth. He allowed a total of three runs on seven hits, while striking out seven over his five innings.

66ers' starter Nick Maronde allowed one run on four hits over four innings, also settling for a no-decision.

The Quakes will get some help from the Dodgers on Sunday, as Ted Lilly is slated to start for the Quakes, as part of a rehab assignment. Inland Empire will go with Fabio Martinez. Tremor's Easter Egg Hunt will also highlight Sunday's action at The Epicenter. The egg hunt starts when the gates open at 1:05pm. Game time is 2:05pm and tickets are on sale by calling (909) 481-5000 or online at rcquakes.com.
