NEW ORLEANS (May 14, 2012) - Late last week, intern Nate Welch sat down with New Orleans VooDoo defensive lineman Michael Janac for this week's VooDoo Question and Answer. Janac is in his first season of arena football, having finished up a distinguished career at Marshall University.
NATE WELCH: Did you have a favorite sporting team growing up and why was that your favorite team?
MICHAEL JANAC: The Miami Dolphins were my favorite team because I grew up in Miami.
NW: Who was your favorite athlete growing up?
MJ: Randy Moss.
NW: Who is your favorite athlete today?
MJ: Dwayne Wade.
NW: What got you started playing football?
MJ: Success at it from a young age. I have always been a big guy.
NW: For you to improve as a player, you need to do what?
MJ: I need to work harder.
NW: What one player would you most like to play against?
MJ: Tim Tebow because he is one of the biggest names in the game.
NW: What was your reaction when you found out you were joining the VooDoo?
MJ: I was excited to have another opportunity to play football.
NW: What is on your pregame playlist?
MJ: "We Ready" by Archie Eversole.
NW: Which superhero would you most like to be and why?
MJ: The Flash, because he's the fastest man on the planet.
NW: Which celebrity would you most like to meet and why?
MJ: Beyonce, because ever since I was a teenager I thought she was beautiful.
NW: What is your favorite type of movie (comedy, action, horror, etc.)?
MJ: Comedies because I love to laugh.
NW: What is your favorite movie and why?
MJ: "All About The Benjamins" because Mike Epps is my favorite actor.
NW: What do you like to do on your days off?
MJ: Relax and watch movies.
NW: What is your advice to kids?
MJ: Seize the opportunity when it is presented to you.
NW: If you could have a superpower, what would it be? Why?
MJ: I'd want to invisible, because I could get a lot of things done.
NW: What is your favorite snack food and why?
MJ: Easy Mac-N-Cheese because it's been my favorite since I was young.
NW: Do you have a favorite quote?
MJ: "Just like that".
NW: What is your favorite book and why?
MJ: Tony Dungy's book, because it is full of inspirational things.
NW: What is your favorite city in America besides New Orleans?
MJ: Miami because it's my hometown.
NW: If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go and why?
MJ: Anywhere with a tropical rainforest because they are so beautiful.
