Texas Marshals News Release

Raymond Pedrina hit a walk-off single to score Connor Huesers in the bottom of the 10th inning on Tuesday night at Driller Park in Kilgore to cap the East Texas Pump Jack's come-from-behind win over the Texas Marshals.

The Marshals and Pump Jacks traded runs in the first inning. Carson Shaddy scored on an error by the Pump Jacks centerfielder and Matthew Dickey scored on an error by Shaddy who was making his second start of the summer at second base.

Shaddy made up for his defensive miscue in the top of the third inning as he blasted his first home run of the season, a solo shot to left field, to put the Marshals ahead 2-1. Jace Reese added an RBI single to score Carlos Contreras later in the inning to put the Marshals out in front 3-1.

The Pump Jacks got one run back in the bottom of the third on an RBI double by Dustin Williams to cut the Marshals lead to 3-2.

Contreras led off the top of the fifth with his first home run of the season to extend the Marshals lead to 4-2.

The score remained that way until the bottom of the eighth inning. Shaddy's second error of the game allowed Joe Moroney to score before Pedrina came into score on pitch that got away from Alex Gosser behind the plate, tying the game up at 4-4.

Pedrina's heroics in the bottom of the 10th inning gave the Pump Jacks the 5-4 walk-off win.

Holden Novak had his best outing of the season as he allowed just two runs on five hits in five innings for the Marshals with no walks and one strikeout. Jeff Harvill and Joe Powell each pitched a scoreless inning of relief. Nick Palacios took the loss for the Marshals.

Contreras and James Stroud each had two hits in the game to pace the Marshals offensively.

With the win, the Pump Jacks improve to 9-18 on the season. The Marshals fall to 7-19 with the loss. The two teams will meet again on Wednesday night back at Driller Park in Kilgore for game two of the two-game series starting at 7:05pm.

The Marshals will begin a four-game home stand on Thursday night 7:05pm as the Acadiana Cane Cutters come to town for a two-game series. The second game of the series on Friday, July 4 will start at 5:00pm.
