The Pulaski Yankees pulled off a win tonight, July 20, against the Princeton Rays, 10-4, at Hunnicutt Field. Pulaski scored two in the 3rd, five in the 4th, two in the 5th, and one in the 9th. The Rays scored one run in the 6th and three runs in the 7th. Simon De la Rosa is credited with the win for the Yankees and Jose Alvarado takes the loss for the Rays.
The Princeton Rays are now 15-10 and first in the Appalachian League East. The Pulaski Yankees are second in the East and sitting at 16-11.
Pulaski scored first with two runs in the 3rd. Matt Walsh and Joy Hun Park scored off of a single by Austin Afenir. In the 4th, Pulaski scored five runs. The first run came from Nathan Mikolas as Allen Valerio singled. Valerio and Kendall Coleman scored off of a double by Matt Walsh. Walsh made it home from a single by Park. Park scored from a double by Afenir. Pulaski had two more runs in the 5th, starting off with a home run by Frank Frias. Valerio scored off of a single by Walsh. The Rays got on the board with one run in the 6th as Zac Law singled to bring Bill Pujols home. In the 7th, the Rays had three runs. Kewby Meyer scored from a single by David Olmedo-Barrera. Blair Beck made it home from a single by Blake Butera. Olmedo-Barrera scored off of a single by Peter Maris. Pulaski sealed the deal with a run in the 9th by Matthew Duran, as Coleman is walked.
