Pulaski Mariners News Release

The Pulaski Mariners lost their first series of the season with a 6-5 Friday night loss to the Bluefield Blue Jays. The Mariners' offense remained as potent as ever, but the bats could not overcome a less than stellar outing by starter Troy Scott.

Scott pitched four innings and allowed all six runs. Pulaski's defense did not do Scott or the rest of the staff any favors. The Mariners committed five errors which led to two unearned runs.

The Mariners offense continued to fire on all cylinders with five runs on nine hits. Outfielder Arby Fields continues to thrive in the leadoff spot. Fields went three-for-five with a triple. Estarlyn Morales contributed two hits for the Mariners as well.

Pulaski scored one run in both the eighth and ninth innings to pull within one run, but Bluefield's Dusty Isaacs managed to stop the bleeding and save the game for the Blue Jays.

Pulaski returns home on Saturday for a three game series against the Princeton Rays. Saturday is Virginia529 Night. Any honor roll student that presents a report card will receive free admission into the game.
