Danville, VA - The Danville Braves (6-3) trailed the Greeneville Astros (4-5) by a single run heading into the bottom of the seventh inning on Friday night at American Legion Post 325 Field at Dan Daniel Memorial Park. Then, a seven-run inning in the bottom of the seventh propelled the Braves to a six-run lead and an 11-5 win to take the series two games to one.

The game started well for the Astros as Sean McMullen had a two-run double in the first inning and advanced to third on an error. Then, he scored on a Trent Woodward sacrifice fly to put the Astros up 3-0.

In the third inning, the Braves got their first run on the board with a Jordan Edgerton RBI single. Then, a pair of RBI singles in the fourth by Alejandro Piloto and Justin Black pulled them even.

In the sixth inning, the Braves finally took the lead on a Keith Curcio sacrifice fly to score Bryan De La Rosa. However, the Astros took it right back in the top of the seventh with an Antonio Nunez RBI single and a Juan Santana ground ball into a force out at second that scored Ramon Laureano. That gave the Astros a 5-4 lead at the seventh inning stretch.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, the game changed drastically. With a runner on for the Braves and no outs, Jordan Edgerton tripled to score the runner and tie the game. Then, after the next hitter was walked, Edgerton scored the go-ahead run on a failed pickoff attempt. From then on, the Braves increased their lead on a fielder's choice with the runner scoring from third, two RBI singles and a two-run double to give them seven runs in the inning and put the game out of reach.

Both teams combined to use 11 pitchers during the course of the game with the Braves using six to the Astros' five. Danville reliever Bradley Roney (1-0) picked up the win after entering the game during the seventh and pitching into the eighth without allowing a hit and walking one. Meanwhile, Dean Deetz took the loss for the Astros after also entering the game in the seventh inning.

The Astros will continue their road trip on Saturday as they begin a new three-game series at the Burlington Royals. Game time is set for 7:00pm.
