Pulaksi Takes First Game against Princeton

The Pulaski Yankees beat the Princeton Rays, 9-8, at Hunnicutt Field on September 3. Princeton scored first with one run in the first inning, six in the fourth, and one in the seventh. The Yankees scored one run in the third, two in the fourth, one in the fifth, four in the eighth, and one in the tenth inning. The win for the Yankees goes to Willie Gabay and Andrew Schwaab gets the save. Ty Jackson takes the loss for the Rays.

Kewby Meyer started the Rays off with a home run in the first. In the third inning, Pulaski's Hoy Jun Park scored from a double by Austin Afenir. In the fourth inning, Jesus Aparicio, for the Yankees, scored from a double by Carlos Vidal. Vidal made it home off of a wild pitch. The Rays put six runs on the board in the fourth. Meyer scored from a single by Jose Rojas. David Rodriguez made it home off of a single by Landon Cray. Rojas scored as Angel Perez singled. Cray made it home from a single by Peter Maris. Perez and Maris scored off of a triple by Zac Law. In the fifth inning, Pulaski's Kane Sweeney scored from a sacrifice fly by Allen Valerio. Princeton scored another run in the seventh as Brett Sullivan doubled and Meyer made it home. The Yankees put four runs on the board in the eighth with a grand slam by Nathan Mikolas, which brought Gosuke Katoh, Valerio, and Kendall Coleman home. In the tenth inning, Pulaski sealed the win with one run by Frank Frias from a single by Vidal.

The Pulaski Yankees take the first game in the three game series. Pulaski and Princeton meet again tomorrow night at Pulaski at 7.
