Princeton WhistlePigs News Release
Details for two of the Princeton Rays' biggest annual attractions for kids, the 3rd annual P-Rays Kids Club and the 14th annual Youth Baseball Clinic, have been unveiled for 2010. Entering just it's third year, the Princeton Rays Kids Club has quickly grown in popularity and is open to all boys and girls ages 12 and under.
Club members pay a one-time fee of $12.00 per person for the season but get an avalanche of benefits in return. Each member will receive a 2010 Princeton Rays Kids Club tee shirt that will grant them free admission when worn to any of the P-Rays 34 regular season home games in 2010. In addition, they receive a membership card and certificate while also receiving a birthday card on their birthday from P-Rays' mascot, Roscoe the Princeton Ray Rooster. All members registered and paid in full by June 1, 2010 will be listed in the P-Rays' 2010 program/yearbook scorecard.
Oh yes, and there are two major events exclusive to Kids Club members only, a preseason picnic with the entire P-Rays' team on June 20 in addition to the fact that the members will have a club meeting prior to every P-Rays Saturday regular season home game with a variety of special guests at each meeting. The preseason picnic is being provided by "The Ticket" ESPN 102.3FM radio, the new corporate sponsor for the 2010 Kids Club.
"We are so thrilled at the growth of the Kids Club and we feel it is a very value-added package for the parents also as well as the kids themselves. Obviously, we hope it will translate into them attending even more games," said P-Rays General Manager Jim Holland.
Members of the 2009 Princeton Rays Kids Club were mailed a 2010 registration form on the evening of April 19. Persons needing more information on the Kids Club or who wish to be mailed a registration form are requested to contact the front office of the Princeton Rays either by e-mail at princetonrays@frontier.com or by telephone at (304) 487-2000.
A long-time favorite, the 14th annual Princeton Rays Youth Baseball Clinic will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 17 at Hunnicutt Field, home of the Princeton Rays. The clinic is open to boys and girls ages 7 to 15.
Instructors for the clinic will be 2010 P-Rays' manager Michael Johns, his coaching staff, and several P-Rays' players. Kids will be instructed in all facets of baseball and an autograph session will follow the clinic. Each attendee will receive a clinic tee-shirt and free admission to the P-Rays' home game that evening versus the Burlington Royals. Fee for the clinic is $30.00 per participant and all participants registered and paid in full by July 8, 2010 will receive their shirts on the day of the clinic.
"We started this clinic when the Rays became our affiliate in 1997 and it has always been fun for us when we see how much it means to these kids. It's always a special morning we look forward to each year," commented Holland.
The clinic has had the same two corporate sponsors for the entire 14 years, Newberry Ford, and The Lewis Agency of Princeton.
Even now, kids can already register for the clinic. Persons needing more information on the clinic or wanting to request a registration form are asked to contact the P-Rays' front office either by e-mail at princetonrays@frontier.com or by telephone at (304) 487-2000.
