Princeton Rays Announce 2008 Schedule

The Princeton Rays have announced their 2008 Appalachian League schedule and, with the return of a tenth team to the Appalachian League, will feature a more conventional look for followers of P-Rays' baseball. The season will start with a 7:00 p.m. home opener on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 versus the newest team in the Appalachian League, the Pulaski Mariners, who will make their regular season league debut in this game. The 17th renewal of the Mercer Cup series between the P-Rays and Bluefield Orioles will begin with a three-game set at Bluefield on June 20-22. The series, which this year will comprise of eleven regular season meetings, will conclude with a three-game set at Princeton's Hunnicutt Field on August 2-4. The Mercer Cup is awarded annually to the winner of the regular season series between these two cross-county rivals.

P-Rays' tickets for the 2008 regular season are now on sale at the team office at Hunnicutt Field. Fans now can purchase box seats for the 2008 season as well as the popular "season ticket books," which feature 30 undated tickets that can be used in any quantity at any P-Rays' regular season home game. These tickets are also honored for regular season home games at Bluefield as well as sevral other ballparks around the Appalachian League.
