Pride Overpowered by Quebec; 11-0

(Nashua, N.H., August 31, 2008) The Nashua Pride were routed, 11-0, by the Quebec Capitales at Stade Municipal on Sunday night.
Quebec right fielder Mike Goss led the way, going 3-for-5 with a grand slam and five RBI. Second baseman Josh Colafemina also notch a multiple RBI night, driving in a pair of runs.
Capitales' starter T.J. Stanton (6-4) earned the win going eight shutout innings, giving up just three hits while walking four and striking out six. Reliever Jason Schutt finished the game pitching the ninth inning.
Pride starting pitcher Jarret Stawarz (3-4) suffered the loss lasting four and one-third innings, giving up six runs, on eight hits, six walks and two strike outs. Hideki Nagasaka came in from the bullpen and gave up four runs in an inning and one-third. Sandy Almonte also saw time on the mound for the Pride, going two and one-third innings, giving up one run and striking out three.
The Pride and Capitales will both end their 2008 regular seasons on Monday, at 4:05pm, when Nashua sends Isaac Burkett (3-6) to the mound against Quebec's David Wasylak (0-0).
