The Worcester Tornadoes got a great outing from starting pitcher Junior Guerrero and five runs in the ninth inning to top Ottawa 5-0. Guerrero allowed just five hits and struck out five in six shutout innings, but did not factor in the decision. Instead it was Tornadoes reliever Anthony Sullivan who earned the win to improve his record to 3-1 on the season. Sullivan allowed two hits and fanned two in two scoreless innings. Worcester 3B Michael MacMillan led the way at the plate. He was 2-for-3 with a run scored and two RBI.

Brockton 3, New Jersey 2

Brockton 3B Eduardo Rios had just one hit in the game, but it was a big one; a walk-off solo home run off New Jersey starter Ted Serro. Brockton LF Jud Thigpen led the way offensively, going 2-for-3 with a pair of runs scored. Rox closer Jerry Dunn picked up the win after allowing a run in the ninth inning to run his mark to 2-4 on the season. Serro took the loss despite a good effort. He allowed three runs on seven hits and fanned five without issuing a walk in eight innings of work.

Atlantic City 7, Sussex 2

The Atlantic City Surf got a great outing from starting pitcher Rory Shortell and plenty of offense in support of him to notch an easy win against Sussex. Shortell allowed two runs on five hits and fanned eight in seven innings of work to pick up the victory and improve to 11-3 on the year. Surf SS Anthony Granato did the bulk of the damage at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a home run, three runs scored and two RBI. Atlantic City LF Jason Hurst also had a good game. He was 2-for-5 with a solo home run and two runs scored.

Quebec 11, Nashua 0

Quebec scored two runs in the first inning to take a 2-0 lead and never looked back as they rolled to an 11-0 shutout of Nashua at home. Capitales RF Michael Goss had a big game at the plate. He was 3-for-5 with a home run and five RBI to lead all hitters. Quebec starting pitcher TJ Stanton was excellent as well. He allowed just three hits while fanning six in eight shutout innings to pick up the win and run his record to 6-4 on the season. The win for the Capitales moves the team into a first place tie in the second half with Sussex with a game to play in the regular season.
