Boston Pride News Release
The Details:
Who: The Boston Pride host the Connecticut Whale
Where: Warrior Ice Arena, Boston, MA
When: Saturday, March 3, 7:30 P.M.
The Rundown:
The Boston Pride and the Connecticut Whale play each other for the last time this season on Saturday, and the New England rivalry could not be more heated. The Pride shut out the Whale 3-0 in Stamford, CT, last Sunday to win their third game of the season, moving them into third place in the standings and two points above the Whale. If the Pride emerge victorious this Saturday, they officially clinch the third seed. If the Whale win, it will come down to the last games of the regular season for both teams to determine who ultimately seeds third and fourth.
Featured Players:
For the Whale, Kelly Babstock (2g,2a) and Emily Fluke (2g, 2a) each have four points against the Pride this season. They also fired a combined 6 shots on goal at Pride netminder Brittany Ott and were a dominating presence on the ice last Sunday. Expect more of the same from these two forwards as the Whale seek to avenge themselves.
For the Pride, rookie Sydney Daniels continues to light the lamp since her return to the lineup on February 2, scoring three points (2g,1a) in her last two games against the Whale. Meanwhile, Pride veterans Emily Field and Jillian Dempsey have also been stellar when playing Connecticut, scoring a combined 15 points in 5 games played against the Whale this season.
