May 31, 2008 - Canadian American League (Can-Am)
American Defenders of New Hampshire News Release

(NASHUA, N.H.) Brockton Rox first baseman Francisco Lebron went 2-for-4 and drove in four runs, along with a walk and a run scored, to lead Brockton's offense on Saturday night versus the Pride.

Every Rox hitter in the staring line-up, with the exception of Jud Thigpen, had at least one hit in the game, including three hit nights for Ervin Alcantara (3-for-5, 2R, 2RBI), Dominic Ramos (3-for-5, 2R, RBI), and Phillip Cuadrado (3-for-6, 2RBI).

The Rox knocked out Pride starting pitcher Reid Willett after three-plus innings of work, in which he gave up six runs, four earned, on six hits, four walks, and two strike outs. The Pride bullpen was also beat-up as Mike Joyce and Nate Berberian combined to allow seven runs, on ten hits, in two and one third innings. Willett suffered the loss.

Rox starter Chris McDonough pitched terrifically into the sixth inning when the Pride were able to string together five straight hits. With two outs in the inning, Nashua scored all five of their runs on a Bryan Duplissie two run double, a Jeremy Pickrel RBI double, and a Jack Joffrion two run home run. McDonough earned his second win of the season in the effort.

The Pride will wrap-up their four game series with Brockton, along with the six game home-stand, Sunday afternoon at 5:05pm, when Bucky Kosky takes the mound for Nashua. Rolando Viera is scheduled to start for Brockton.

The Nashua Pride Professional Baseball Club, entering its 11th season, provides a fun, affordable, community-based and fan-friendly source of sports entertainment. The 2007 Can-Am League Champions will be participating in its third year of play in the Canadian-American Association of Professional Baseball.
