Saginaw Spirit News Release
Erie, PA - The Saginaw Spirit (13-16-1-0) continue their search for the illusive first victory of the 2022 calendar year Monday afternoon when they travel to face familiar American foe, the Erie Otters (10-17-1-1) at the Erie Insurance Arena in Erie, Pennsylvania.
Head-to-Head
Today, Saginaw faces Erie for the sixth of 12 meetings this season, with the club holding a 3-1-1-0 record against the Otters this season. The two teams last squared off on Dec. 11 in Erie, with Saginaw coming out on top by a 5-3 score. Defenseman Pavel Mintyukov led the way for Saginaw, scoring a goal and two assists. Five different players scored for the Spirit including the first for Justin O'Donnell in a Spirit uniform and the first game-winning goal in the career of Ian Phillips. Tristan Lennox made 27 saves in the victory of Saginaw. Vancouver Canucks prospect Connor Lockhart scored all three goals for the Otters.

Erie: Erie saw their season-long, four-game winning streak snapped by the Flint Firebirds last Thursday night in a 6-3 final. Defenseman Christian Kyrou and left wing Noah Sedore each registered two assists. Flint goaltender Luke Cavallin recorded 43 saves for the Firebirds.
