Waza Flo News Release
The Detroit Waza Flo Pro welcomes 1790 Cincinnati into town for an Eastern Division showdown Sunday afternoon at 1:00 P.M. at Compuware Sports Arena.
The match will feature as the front end of a double header with the Detroit Ignition who will square off against the New Jersey Ironmen at 4:35 P.M.
At 8-0 1790 Cincinnati are the class of the league. 1790 is also the only team to win both games on its Colorado trip last weekend with 7-1 and 7-3 wins over the Denver Dynamite and Colorado Lightning respectively. The wins confounded the critics who said that Cincinnati's 6-0 start owed to the fact that five of those matches were played on home turf.
Waza meanwhile, is looking for revenge against 1790 which defeated them three times this season, all at the Game Time Training Center in Fairfield, OH.
"I think it will be a different story this time around," owner and player Mario Scicluna predicted. "We played them close in two of our three matches in Ohio and I feel that if we play to our full potential and take advantage of playing in front of our home fans, we can hand them their first loss of the season."
Still full of confidence following their 11-6 win last weekend over West Virginia, Waza is in fine form and looking to keep a consistent line-up with only one or two changes to the roster.
Following a strong performance against West Virginia, Doran Dauri keeps his place in the line-up. Target man Derrick Garrambone is set to make his third appearance of the season. The Miami native not only found the back of the net for the first time last weekend, but was also solid in holding the ball up and laying it off to the second forward and midfielders joining the attack.
At 3-8 on the season, Waza is on a quest to win its final five games and finish the inaugural PASL-Pro season with a highly respectable .500 record. Waza has two tries left versus 1790 Cincinnati, but they dont want to wait until their final match-up on February 20th. They want to bury their 1790 Cincinnati demon this weekend.
Good tickets are still available by calling Dave Valenti at 1-888-436-4625 and mentioning the code "Waza" or by going to www.ticketmaster.com and typing in the code "Waza" when making your purchase.
