Preview: Cedar Rapids Rampage vs. Chicago Mustangs

Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Rampage (0-6) and Chicago Mustangs (5-2) will meet for the second time in three weeks tomorrow night at the US Cellular Center at 7:05 p.m. Chicago won the previous match, which was also held in Cedar Rapids, by a score of 14-4.

The Rampage are coming off of their sixth straight loss, dropping last Saturday night's match, 8-6, to the Milwaukee Wave (5-3). With both teams being held scoreless through the first quarter, Milwaukee got out to a quick lead in the second quarter, scoring a pair of goals (Sean Totsch - 2:04; Max Ferdinand - 3:23) in the first three and a half minutes. Rampage forward Semir Mesanovic scored his second goal of the season at the fourteenth minute before Totsch scored his second goal of the match with thirty seconds remaining in the first half. The two teams exchanged goals much of the second half, before Milwaukee scored two empty net goals in the final minute (Marcel Fontana - 14:11; Totsch - 14:48) to secure the win.

Cedar Rapids goalkeeper Joey Kapinos stopped 16 of 22 shots for a 72 percent save percentage while Wave goalkeeper Matt Eisold stopped 26 of 32 shots for an 81 percent save percentage.

Through six games on the year, the Rampage are led by forwards Hewerton Moreira and Elmo Neto. Hewerton leads the team with 13 points (5 goals, 8 assists) while Neto leads the team with seven goals (10 points, three assists). Defender Patrick Kelly has added six goals (six points) while forward Alex Megson has contributed eight points (three goals, five assists) to the team.

Forward Wilo Martinez leads Chicago in points (16, seven goals) and assists (9). Midfielders Miguel Vaca (15 points) and Taylor Bond (12 points) lead the team in goals with ten goals each. Goalkeeper Jesus Flores has logged over 396 minutes in the net through seven games and has stopped 106 of 142 shots for a 74.6 percent save percentage. The Mustangs are coached by Armando Gamboa (38-14 career coaching record).
