New Britain Bees News Release
In 140 Characters or Less: The Bees look to make it two in a row vs. the Somerset Patriots tonight! First pitch set for 6:35PM!
Series: The Bees took the first ever matchup between the two teams last night 5-3, boosting their record to over .500 for the first time ever in the process. After tonight's game, the series will wrap up Thursday night.
Bees Tickets: Available at the New Britain Stadium Box Office | Call 860-826-BEES
The Bees: Jovan Rosa has hit well against left-handers all season, and he'll have the chance to face yet another tonight. Rosa's first inning home run off Patriots' left-hander Jeremy Horst was his third against a southpaw this season to go along with eight RBIs and a .306 batting average (11-36).
The Opposition: During his ten-game hitting streak, Aharon Eggleston is hitting .310 (13-42) with four RBIs. His teammates have also taken advantage of him frequently reaching base as he has also scored six runs during the streak.
Starters
New Britain- RHP Brian Dupra (4-0, 1.60) | Somerset- LHP Darin Gorski (3-2, 4.77)
Key to the Game- Eat. Dupra. Love: Anytime Brian Dupra steps on the mound, the Bees have an excellent chance at picking up a win. Of Dupra's six starts on the year, New Britain has won five of them, with Dupra getting the victory in four of those five wins. Look for Dupra to control the pace of the game with his quick-working style as he tries to keep the Somerset offense (217 runs) and base running game (league high 67 steals) off balance.
Broadcast: YouTube (youtube.com/NewBritainBees).
Bees Buzz: Reliever Sean Gleason pitched very well while picking up his first win as a member of the Bees, striking out three in 1.1 perfect innings...The Bees have picked up at least eight hits in 14 straight games, including double digit hits in each of the last three games...James Skelton has reached base in each of the last 11 games he has played in (ten hits, 11 walks)...
