In 140 Characters or Less: The Bees begin an eight-game road trip tonight as they visit the Lancaster Barnstormers! First pitch 7PM!
Series: New Britain and Lancaster have played six times so far in 2016 with the teams splitting those six games three apiece. The first three games from Clipper Magazine Stadium will begin at 7PM while the series finale on Sunday gets underway at 5PM.
Bees Home Tickets: Available at the New Britain Stadium Box Office | Call 860-826-BEES
The Bees: The Bees are coming off a successful 4-2 homestand in which they took two of three games against both the Sugar Land Skeeters and Somerset Patriots. At 28-30, the Bees sit 5.5 games out of first place in the Liberty Division with 12 games left in the first half.
The Opposition: At 29-29, the Barnstormers are 4.5 games behind the Freedom Division-leading York Revolution. Lancaster just completed a six game road trip where they took two of three games in Long Island and dropped two out of three in Bridgeport.
Starters
New Britain- LHP Josh Outman (1-3, 5.08) | Lancaster- RHP Terry Doyle (2-3, 3.96)
Key to the Game - Carousel of Progress:After a rough outing on June 12 against Bridgeport spiked his ERA, Josh Outman took the first step in getting that number back down in his last start against Sugar Land. In the June 18th start, the lefty allowed just one run in six innings despite getting the no-decision. If the veteran can further build on that start tonight, the Bees stand a good chance at picking up the win in the series opener.
