SAN JOSE (July 24, 2003) â CyberRays forward Pretinha underwent successful knee surgery Wednesday and should be ready for the 2004 WUSA season.
Dr. Michael Wall, the CyberRays team orthopedist, grafted a new anterior cruciate ligament into Pretinha's right knee to replace the one torn in the July 13 USA-Brazil international friendly, and he also repaired a torn meniscus in the same knee.
Pretinha, who remains the CyberRays' leading scorer this season with five goals, five assists and 15 points, will remain in San Jose for rehabilitation.
