Mississippi Surge News Release


Rollin' On The RiverHawks:The Mississippi Surge hosts the Augusta RiverHawks tonight. It is Augusta's first visit to the Coast Coliseum since last year's President's Cup final series.

Records: The Surge is 6-5-0 for 12 points in fifth place.

Augusta is 10-2-1 for 21 points in first place.

Season Series:This is the second of six meetings between these two teams this season. Augusta won the first game, the opening night of the season, scoring an empty net goal, milliseconds ahead of the final buzzer for a 4-2 win.

Recent Action: The Surge is coming off a 6-4 loss last night at Louisiana, giving up five power play goals. Augusta was at home last night, and defeated Pensacola 6-3.

Still Streaking: Center Adam Krug scored with 36 seconds left last night, which stretches his point streak to eight games, tied for the current longest point streak in the SPHL. In his eight game streak, Krug has six goals and four assists for 10 points. Interestingly, he is tied with Dustin Cloutier of Augusta, who also has an eight game point streak, with 13 points over that stretch.

Another Adam Heats Up:Adam Stuart figured in three of the four Surge goals last night, with a goal and two assists. In the last two games, Stuart has two goals and three assists for five points.

Stay In Your Seats:The Coast Coliseum has teamed up with Quick R company to provide fans the opportunity to order concession items, using their smart phones while remaining in their seats. Every fan seated in a numbered section (the blue seats in the lower bowl of the coliseum) will have a flier in front of them with a code they can scan into their phone, then order concession items from a large menu, and have their order delivered to their seat for a nominal $1 convenience charge.

Next Up: Tonight wraps up what has been a busy November at home for the Surge, having played seven home games this month. The next game for the Surge will also be against Augusta, on the road Friday, December 2. The next home game for the Surge won't be until December 17thagainst Columbus. Augusta plays Thursday at home, against Knoxville.
