Preseason: Week 4 Preview

This week, Pittsburgh signed four players ahead of the 2018 season. Formerly on trial, Neco Brett, Mouhamed Dabo, Bakie Goodman and Joe Holland all inked deals with the club.

The Week Ahead

Logging a 5-0 record in preseason play, Riverhounds SC will hit the road for two matches in week four. The team will first battle the University of Pittsburgh at 7 p.m. on March 2 at Ambrose Urbanic Field before clashing with Bethlehem Steel FC at 3 p.m. on March 4 at the Power Training Complex in Chester, Pennsylvania.

The Panthers held an 8-10 overall record while competing in the Atlantic Coast Conference during the 2017 campaign. Head coach Jay Vidovich led the team to a 5-4 record in games at Ambrose Urbanic Field, its home venue, in 2017.

Meanwhile, Bethlehem Steel FC finished eighth place in the USL Eastern Conference in 2017. Under head coach Brendan Burke, the squad posted a 12-12-8 record.

Last Week

Pittsburgh racked up two wins in week three of the preseason, defeating the University of Charleston, 2-0, and the University of Akron, 4-2.

Notable performances from week three included Kevin Kerr, who scored one goal in each match, and Dennis Chin, who scored his first tally with Pittsburgh against Akron after signing with the team earlier in the week.
