Premier Lacrosse League to Host Games at Weidner Field

The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) announced today that the league will travel to Colorado Springs from July 30th to August 1st. Weidner Field, home of Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC, will host a five-game weekend.

"We're excited to bring the PLL to a brand new facility in Weidner Field in downtown Colorado Springs," said PLL Director of Event Operations Courtney Ellis. "Colorado Springs has a rich sports tradition as the training center for many Olympic athletes."

"We couldn't be more excited to be hosting Premier Lacrosse League at our brand new Stadium Weidner Field, home of the Switchbacks FC," said Switchbacks Vice President, James Ragain. "PLL will bring a great atmosphere and amazing experience to all Lacrosse fans and sports fans in Colorado."

The PLL will work with its venue partners to maintain compliance with local and state governance regarding health and safety best practices. This will include standardized weekend-to-weekend health and safety measures, including but not limited to: seating pods, social distancing, enhanced venue cleaning, mobile ticketing, hand sanitation stations, staff and attendee mask requirements. Similar to the 2020 season, the PLL will be working with a committee of medical professionals to develop health and safety protocols for all players, staff, and fans as well.

The 2021 PLL season will include 11 tour stops from June to September. For the third consecutive year, PLL games will be distributed via an exclusive media rights agreement with NBC Sports Group with action being shown through a combination of NBC, NBCSN, and Peacock TV.
