Premier Basketball League Holds 2012 Draft in Chicago
November 17, 2011 - Premier Basketball League (PBL)
Lake Michigan Admirals News Release
Following a successful team owners meeting in Chicago this week, the official draft for the Premier Basketball League (PBL) took place this afternoon at 1:00pm CST via conference call with all teams across the country represented. The draft took place in two rounds, the first being in the order selected by the live streaming lottery on November 10th in Chicago. The second round will be in reverse order from the first round lottery position.
With rosters in place, team front office and coaching staff are focusing on the pre-season tournament in December. The current NBA lockout has pushed the Premier Basketball League into the spot light as the leading independent basketball league going into the upcoming sports season.
"The season is only a few weeks away, we're glad to see the teams finalizing their list of players," commented Carrie Ann May, PBL Vice President of Operations. "The teams are coming together and are really making a collaborative effort to do what is best for not only their individual teams, but also the league as a whole."
