ORLANDO - July 9, 2015 - The Orlando Predators have agreed to terms with rookie defensive lineman Tim Jackson, the franchise announced Thursday. Jackson enters his first season in the Arena Football League following professional stints with the NFL's Houston Texans and the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League.
Jackson (6-4, 280, North Carolina) played in 44 games during his four-year collegiate career at North Carolina. The former Tar Heels standout racked up 70 tackles with 2.5 sacks and 5.5 tackles for loss while adding nine quarterback hurries, two pass breakups and one interception. Jackson signed with the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent in 2014 before joining the BC Lions for training camp in 2015.
A local product from St. Petersburg, Jackson attended Gibbs High School, where he was ranked as the No. 7 defensive end in the state of Florida by the Orlando Sun-Sentinel after posting 56 tackles with 12 sacks and three forced fumbles as a senior in 2009.
The Predators also placed defensive end Edward Mosley on recallable reassignment in a corresponding roster move Thursday.
The Predators travel to take on the division-rival Tampa Bay Storm this Saturday, July 11 at Amalie Arena. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30pm EST. For all the latest news and updates, visit OrlandoPredators.com and follow the team on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
