Hat give-away; Happy Trumpeter to perform
The first 1,000 adults (age 21 and over) at Saturday's game against Port Huron at U.S. Cellular Coliseum will receive a PrairieThunder hat, compliments of Miller Lite. Also, Claude, the Happy Trumpeter, will be roaming through the crowd performing his act. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
Wine, Women and Hockey
The first Wine, Women and Hockey Night takes place Wednesday, Dec. 6 when the PrairieThunder meets Rockford at 7:05 p.m. at U.S. Cellular Coliseum. The event, sponsored by Fox and Hounds Day Spa, affords women the opportunity to receive a mini-manicure and massage during the game.
Wine tasting also will be available along with appetizers and deserts. Fans can purchase a Party Suite package, which includes a game ticket in the Party Suite and access to the Wine and Women activities for $30. Club and suite holders can purchase a ticket for $10 to attend the activities. All patrons must have a ticket to participate in the activities. For more information, call 309-434-2658.
Jeff Burton to attend NASCAR Night
NASCAR driver Jeff Burton, who finished seventh in this year's final Cup point standings, will take part in NASCAR Night at U.S. Cellular Coliseum on Wednesday, Dec. 6 when the PrairieThunder faces Rockford.
Burton will sign autographs from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and participate in the ceremonial "puck drop" before the game. State Farm Insurance and Insight are co-sponsors for the event, which will feature the PrairieThunder players in specially designed NASCAR jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game.
Toys for Tots "Teddy Toss"
The Bloomington PrairieThunder hockey team and coaches are the "honorary chairpersons" for the annual Toys for Tots campaign, which started Nov. 10. The Toys for Tots campaign is sponsored by Bloomington radio stations B-104 (WBWN) and WBNQ (101.5 FM).
The featured event for the Saturday, Dec. 9 game will be a Teddy Toss. All fans attending the 7:05 p.m. contest against Quad City are asked to bring a stuffed animal to the game. After the PrairieThunder scores its first goal, fans will be instructed to toss the stuffed animals onto the ice.
The stuffed animals will be collected and donated to the Toys for Tots campaign. Fans also can purchase PrairieThunder mascot "Chip" stuffed animals prior to the game at the Coliseum gift shop for $10.
Also, the first 1,500 fans entering the Coliseum for the Dec. 9 game will receive a Pixar Films "Cars" tree ornament, compliments of State Farm Insurance.
Bucket Boys coming to town
The Bucket Boys, a group of youngsters from the Chicago area who use buckets for drums, will appear Friday, Dec. 15 between the first and second intermission of the 7:05 p.m. PrairieThunder game against Muskegon.
It also will be College Discount Night where college students can show their school ID at the box office and receive $4 off the normally priced $12 ticket.

Bus trip planned for Dec. 16 game at Rockford
The Bloomington PrairieThunder Booster Club is offering a bus trip for fans to the Dec. 16 United Hockey League game at Rockford. Cost is $36 for members of the PrairieThunder Booster Club and $40 for non-members. Tentative departure time on Dec. 16 is 4 p.m. with tentative return time at midnight. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
Interested parties can sign-up for the trip at the Booster Club table at the Coliseum (section 112) at any PrairieThunder home games. Deadline is Dec. 9. For additional information contact Micah at www.micahahardy@yahoo.com.
Membership to the Booster Club is $15 for an individual and $25 for a family. Membership entitles individuals to discount prices on bus trips to PrairieThunder games and admittance to all Booster Club activities involving PrairieThunder players.
