
PrairieThunder signs left wing to inaugural roster

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Left wing Justin Kinnunen signed to play with the United Hockey League's Bloomington PrairieThunder, head coach Derek Booth announced Friday. Kinnunen played for the East Coast Hockey League's Dayton Bombers before moving overseas to play in France during the 2005-06 season.
During the 2004-05 season, Kinnunen played in 56 games with the Bombers, scoring nine goals and notching 20 assists for a total of 29 points. He also notched 18 penalty minutes during that season. Kinnunen began playing in the ECHL directly following a successful four-year career at Northern Michigan University.
While he played for the Wildcats Kinnunen recorded a career-high 12 points during his sophomore year, and totaled 148 games, 14 goals, 24 assists, 38 points and 79 penalty minutes during his four years at Northern Michigan.
Kinnunen is a native of Negaunee, Mich.
